DAWN J. APRIL 2022           WAITED FOR YEARS TO READ WHAT IT'S LIKE TO LIVE IN KEY WEST

Really enjoyed this book! I have wondered for years why no one has written about living in Key West. Many of us get to travel on vacation there, but most of us can't live there. Very enjoyable and easy reading. Thank you for giving me a little more insight into what I have always wondered. It was even more fun to read about Key West from the past.

DONNA, APRIL 2022          WONDERFUL STORIES OF ADOLESCENT ENTHUSIASM, OF INNOCENCE, OF LOVE OF LIFE, AND OF FINDING THE PLACE THEY CALL HOME, KEY WEST.

I’ve just finished reading Diane Wheeler and Mike Kohut’s Dandelions of Key West: A Collection of Whimsical Short Stories by Two Military Brats Who Blossomed Within the Conch Community They Now Call Home. I can highly recommend this book.

In juxtaposing the reminiscences of two Navy teenagers who, while growing up, navigate the continual re-locations of their families, Diane and Mike recall wonderful stories of adolescent enthusiasm, of innocence, of love of life, and of finding the place they call home, Key West.

These often humorous stories of Key West, before, during and after the authors’ teenage years, are filled with gardenias, music, food, sharks, aqua waters, and unrequited love. There are things to be dealt with: the Cuban crisis, science fairs, filling stations, the DMV, and Lovely Rita. All in all, these stories make a warm and happy book written from the perspective of two talented writers.

JESSLYN, MARCH 2022       THESE STORIES ARE VIVID, INTIMATE, EMOTIONAL AND HILARIOUS

In this memoir of teen-agers living in Key West as a result of their naval officer fathers being stationed there in the 1950’s and 1960’s, both Diane and Mike show themselves as gifted writers.  Not only did I see the visual side of this remote, tropical island, I was able to smell and taste the delights as they did.  These stories are vivid, intimate, emotional and hilarious as they describe adventures borne of teen-age angst, rebellion and transitioning from adolescence into adult-hood in an amazing tropical paradise.

SANDRA, MARCH 2022       IT IS A GREAT READ, SO KICK OFF YUR SHOES AND SETTLE DOWN FOR A TRIP EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME!

This book was written of a life on our little island I knew many years ago.  It was a more simple time.

Reading the stories brought back memories I had forgotten with time. It is a great read so just kick off your shoes and settle down for a trip everyone should take once in their lifetime.

KEIKO, FEBRUARY 2022       MY SON SHUNMA SAID ABOUT YOU,"HE'S COOLER THAN SPIDER-MAN"

I and my son have finished reading your book.  I am impressed.  Amazing!  Thank you for the opportunity to discover your wonderful life so far.  In particular, I and my son loves an episode of your  Spelling Test and an episode of a University Chemistry Experiment.

My son said about you, "He's cooler than Spider-Man." he became a big fan of you.  Your humor makes the people around you happy.
